Whitney Johns shares the importance of creating a healthy lifestyle. We talk about how self-discipline and tough love is at the root of self-love. She discusses the steps that are necessary to become known in the fitness world (great advice for anyone starting a new career path).
She gets personal and discusses how she overcame anxiety and migraines and realized that she was the one in control of her life. The philosophies she learned are part of the foundation of her app: Fit with Whit where you can find workout programs and meal plans.
I also followed the interview with these questions:
1. What would your 3 fitness tips be someone who wants to lose weight?
-Get your digestion on track first. Focus on Gut health, probiotics, fiber.
-Eliminate inflammatory foods like processed foods, sugar, alcohol
-Make sure to prioritize weight/resistant training during your workouts. Cardio only won’t get you to your weight loss goals.
2. What is the biggest myth in fitness right now?
That you can still be “healthy” and eat whatever you want as long as it fits within your macros.
Not true. If you eat crap you’re going to feel like crap and your body will function like crap in-spite of what the “caloric math” tells you.
